Goodreads Synopsis:
It’s just over a week until Sam will be Binding with Jared, and the only thing she wants is to spend that time relaxing and preparing for the ceremony. Unfortunately, she seems to be asking too much of fate, because suddenly she’s lumbered with a number of distractions that have the potential to postpone, or even cancel, the Binding. There’s a guarded fiancé to crack, a complicated assignment to deal with, Jared’s ex to alienate, and a bunch of snobbish Master Vampires to win over – or offend, whichever. On the upside, things couldn’t possibly be any worse, could they?

Actually, yes they could. Due to a cruel twist of fate, something strange is happening to Sam –something that is changing her in ways she doesn’t like or understand. With the help of Jared and those closest to her, she has to not only handle the threats to the Binding Ceremony, but find a way to fix what has been done to her – and fast.

Warning: This book contains a stubborn and occasionally homicidal female vampire, a powerful and overprotective male vampire who refuses to lose her, and scenes of a sexual, explicit nature.

What I thought:
NOTE: MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS OF THE FIRST BOOK IN THE SERIES.
I strongly suggest that you read book one, Here Be Sexist Vampires (my review here), before you read this review.

Good news, the second book is just as good as the first! This time around the book focuses on Sam and Jared's relationship on a deeper level. Still, it's just a small part of the book, which I LOVE! There is a whole lot going on and I am seriously impressed by Wrights way of never confusing her readers. In the first book she introduced a whole bunch of secondary characters in just a few pages. This time she juggles a complicated squad mission, Sam's change (that turns into a squad mission), everything that comes with the Binding ceremony (including obnoxious guests) as well as the friction between Sam and Jared. And you get it all without questions or mix-ups. Like I said, seriously impressed. If it sounds as too much is going on, don't worry, it all ties up very nicely at the end.

I think I could pretty much have copied and pasted my review of the first book because this keeps the same spirit. It keeps a high pace that's not too high. It has a lot of unexpected turns and twists. It has a lot of different and extremely lovable characters.

I still love Sam just as much as I did after Here be Sexist Vampire, even though she now has to consider Jared to a higher extent in her decisions she still stay's true to her, ehm... Let's call it strong willed self, alright? I love the dynamics of the group and I love their development. A lot of the secondary characters have figured out their place in life and in the squad but they still continue to grow and become better and more settled people. I love the whole bunch!

I love, I love I, love... Yeah, but I do. It might be a little bit uninformative to someone else. Just think of it like this: I either have a really, really bad vocabulary which, if you've read my other reviews, you would know I dont (I least I hope I don't) or I really do love this book and every thing about it!

The first book was labeled as erotica, though it contained a very limited amount of sexy stuff. This book has a lot more. Not that it really has that much and, especially, not disturbingly so, because there's still a substantial and awesome story to it, but it still a lot more than the first. All of it classily written and in no way tacky or too much, unless you're a complete prude or find sex in books offensive. If you do, that perfectly okay and I do not judge you in any way for not reading those kind of books. Let me just tell you, it's hot hot hot. Gosh I want a Jared all for myself, I love him too

If you like your heroines strong and high-spirited, and don't mind a sexy vampire, this is definitely a book for you!

My rating:
Five
